Let’s talk about hair care! I’ve been blonde on and off for almost ten years now, which means a decade of potential damage to my hair. I’ve always put a lot of thought and consideration into what I put on my hair and how I take care of it.

How often do I wash my hair?

I only wash my hair two times a week, max. I usually wash it on Sunday or Monday to start the week and then again around Thursday. In between washes I use dry shampoo, I’m still trying to find my forever pick but here are some great options:

What hair products do I use?

For shampoo and conditioner I use Function of Beauty products. If you have heard of FoB, you’re missing out! It is completely customizable hair care products including shampoo, conditioner, hair masks and serums.

All you have to do is fill out your hair profile and then customize! The shampoo and conditioner come in either 8oz or 16oz bottles and you make them whatever color and scent you want, or you make them dye and scent free. They are also vegan, sulfate-free, paraben-free and cruelty free.

I personally use the purple shampoo and then I switch back and forth between a violet conditioner and a dye free conditioner. You can get $5 off your first order by clicking here.

Also, once a week I use Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector. It was recommended by my hair dresser Meghan, check her out if you’re in the Dallas area! She’s the best! It strengthens hair from within and helps to reduce breakage. Olaplex also has a lot of other products to check out like their No.6 Bond Smoother and No.7 Bonding Oil.

I also like to spray a heat protectant on my hair and I try to let me hair air dry as much as possible. Then I style with my straightener or a curling wand.
