We’ve been in our new hometown for almost a year now. We love our little piece of suburbia. It’s not a huge tourist destination but it has a lot of hidden gems to discover. I actually grew up in a neighboring town so some of these places I’ve been going to for a long time.

Here is a little look into Carrollton TX – not far from downtown Dallas.

Places to Go / Things to Do:

Historic Downtown Carrollton – One of the cutest little town squares. If you are a Gilmore girls fan it will give you some serious Stars Hollow vibes. Full of cute shops and great restaurants,  a lot of which are mentioned later in the post, it’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon. A number of events are held at the square throughout the year for all ages. (1100 S Elm St, Carrollton, TX 75006)

A.W. Perry Homestead Museum – A nice little pioneer museum where you can catch a glimpse of what North Dallas was like at the turn of the 20th century.  Open from 11-1pm Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday. (1509 Perry Rd, Carrollton, TX 75006)

Walk the Greenbelt – The Greenbelt is an 18 mile trail that goes through various parts of the city. It is a great for walking, running and biking.

Carrollton Square Salon and Spa – A great little gem! This full service spa is located in the downtown square. (1026 S Broadway St, Carrollton, TX 75006)

Dallas Chocolate Classes – Who doesn’t love chocolate?! Here you can learn about, and eat, to your heart’s content. (1626 Banbury LnCarrollton, TX 75006-5202)

Places to Eat:

El Rincon Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar – So if you watch my Insta stories you know I’m here A LOT! There is no doubt this is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. The food is good and more importantly the margs are good! They are also located on the downtown square. (1114 S Elm St #100, Carrollton, TX 75006)

Sid’s Rainbow Grill – I’ve been going to this place forever! You want just a good old fashioned burger this is the place! This place is also located on the downtown square.(1107 S Broadway St, Carrollton, TX 75006)

Pizzarella – A great hole in the wall pizza place! The food is great and very inexpensive. Plus the portions are great, we always have leftovers. (2155 Marsh Ln #150, Carrollton, TX 75006)

Rice Chicken – This is located in a heavily Korean influenced area of Carrollton. This place has the best chicken nuggets ever! It’s also a great option if you avoid gluten because they coat the chicken with rice flour.  (2540 Old Denton Rd #136, Carrollton, TX 75006)

Sunny Street Cafe – A really cute place for a huge breakfast! The prices aren’t bad and the servings are huge! They serve breakfast and lunch but if you can get breakfast food why wouldn’t you? (2150 N. Josey Ln. Carrollton, TX 75006)

Where to Shop:

The Vintage House – This is one of my favorite shops of all time! They have some of the cutest stuff! They carry Kendra Scott, Vera Bradley and Alex & Ani to name a few. Plus the family that owns this store are some of the nicest people you will ever meet! (1101 E Belt Line Rd, Carrollton, TX 75006)

Dress / Earrings

Sooz Boutique – This little shop has some of the cutest clothes! They are a little more expensive but the quality is outstanding. This is a great place for everything from cute Texas graphic tees to cute dresses and professional tops. It’s located on the downtown square. (1100 W Main St, Carrollton, TX 75006)

We may live in the suburbs but our lives are far from boring. We love our hometown and everything it has to offer. It is growing all the time so stay tuned, there may be a part two to this post!

xoxo Britt
